About Tall Heights :
Tall Heights is the acclaimed indie-folk harmony duo of childhood friends and Sturbridge natives Tim Harrington (guitar, vocals) and Paul Wright (cello, vocals), whose unmistakable blend of lush harmonies and atmospheric instrumentation has carved out a singular space in modern folk music. What began as busking on the streets of Boston evolved into a globally recognized act, defined by Wright’s unique cello style and the pair’s soaring and lyrical vocal interplay. Their music balances intimacy with cinematic scale, earning the duo a devoted international audience and nearly half a billion streams to date.
Over the past decade, Tall Heights has steadily expanded their reach through both their own releases and high-profile collaborations. The duo has worked closely with acclaimed singer-songwriter Ben Folds—co-writing songs and joining him on the road and in the studio as his backing band—further cementing their reputation among respected voices in contemporary music. Their songs have also appeared across television and film, including Grey’s Anatomy, American Idol, and CBS This Morning, while their live performances have taken them to iconic venues from Los Angeles’ Troubadour to London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Known for emotionally resonant songwriting and immersive live performances, Tall Heights continues to explore the vast genre of modern folk while staying grounded in the friendship that started it all. Whether performing as a duo, with a band, or alongside symphony orchestras, Harrington and Wright create music that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant—quietly building one of the most distinctive and enduring sounds in indie folk today.
